| Minutes of the meeting of Allington Parish Council held on January 10th 2006 at the Cherry Tree Communal Room Bridport. The meeting commenced at 7 30pm |
Present. Cllrs PJ Lathey, D & K Hitt, T Gruitt I Gay, M Wrighton. Mr P Bowditch [Woodland Trust Play Area Supervisor], Mr D. McAllister [Cherry Tree Play Area Supervisor], District Councillor A Alford, and 2 members of the public. Mrs C Stansfield recorded the minutes. The Chairman Cllr Lathey welcomed everyone to the meeting. 1. As there were all council members present there were no apologies 2. No members had an interest to declare. 3. The Chairman asked every councillor if they had received and read the minutes of the last meeting? If so was it there wish that he sign and date the minute book as a true record ALL AGREED. The minute book was duly signed and dated. 4. Matters arising from those minutes. Clerk to remind Ms Staley of the Woodland Trust regarding their provision of more seats on Allington Hill. TMH Fencing to check the gates on Cherry Tree Play Area as there is a problem with them closing. 5. Public Participation. White Lines Cherry Tree/Hospital Lane/Meadfields junctions. Pot Holes in the road on Hospital Lane both to be reported to the Parish Maintenance Units. Former Allington Stores Garage children using it as a drinking den. 150 North Allington property being altered Query planning consent guide lines. Complaints still being received by council on the speed of traffic going up Hospital Lane. Query if we could borrow a detector box to monitor traffic. Query regarding legality of parking a caravan on the road whilst not attached to a vehicle. Dog fouling becoming a problem although this is in Bridport Town Councils area Dog Warden to be contacted. A query about who owns the hedge on Hospital Lane. 6. Financial Report. The Clerk reported the Balance in the ordinary account was £2995.12 of which 0.22p was interest. The Savings Account Balance was £2016.77p. There is a vat claim in for £202.08. This brings our total vat claim for the year to £1,166.26. Two cheques required signing. 7. Election of Councillor. Notices had been received for the advertisement for a councillor to replace Cllr G. Stansfield who had retired on health grounds 8. Parish Plan and Meeting. Councillors were told of the meeting held to discuss the parish plan. It was a good meeting, very informative. Speakers from Chideock Plan Committee told of how they had success in various areas as a result of the plan. The Way Ahead Group would be finalising the plan for printing and be delivered in March. Several errors from the planning department at West Dorset District Council had been highlighted. Part of De Legh Grove suddenly became Bridport Town Councils. Bridport Town Council were unaware of this and had no input in name of streets/road nor of consultation of development. 9. Planning Applications. None to discuss 10. Woodland Trust Play Area. Mr Bowditch reported to council there were no holes in the play area and the grass was ok. However, he had picked up from within the play area several empty vodka bottles. Play Area well used by local children 11. Cherry Tree Play Area. Mr McAllister reported to council that the gate still keeps sticking. He reported some vandalism and will monitor the situation at present. The Trees overcrowding play area. Cllr Lathey to look at this situation and report back to council. Clerk to look into possibility of applying for funding for a climbing frame or other equipment. 12. Correspondence. All items were read out to councillors 13. The date of the next meeting was 14th February 2006. The Chairman thanked everyone for attending the meeting. Meeting closed at 8.50pm |
