Minutes of a meeting of Allington Parish Council held at Cherry Tree Communal Room, Bridport on 9th January 2007. The meeting commenced at 7.30pm.

PRESENT:
M.A. Wrighton (Vice-Chairman), D. Hitt, K. Hitt, I. Gay, T. Gruitt, Paul Bowditch (Woodland Trust Play Area Supervisor), 1 member of the public. Miss A Hull recorded the minutes. As Cllr. P. Lathey was unable to attend the meeting, Vice-Chairman Cllr. M Wrighton acted as Chairman.

1. APOLOGIES:
Apologies were received from Cllr. Alford, Cllr. P. Lathey and Don McAlister (Cherry Tree Play Area Supervisor).

2. TO RECEIVE DECLARATIONS OF MEMBERS INTERESTS:
There were none to declare.

3. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING:
The Chairman asked if everyone had both received and read the minutes of the last meeting, if so, were they a true record. ALL AGREED. The minutes were duly signed and dated.

4. MATTERS ARISING FROM THOSE MINUTES:
The drain in Hospital Lane now appears to have been cleared.

Regarding the caravan/camper van that was being parked around Cherry Tree - Clerk has spoken to WDDC who have informed that unless it is causing an obstruction or being parked ilegally then there is nothing that can be done about it.

Both Cllr. T Gruitt and Cllr. I. Gay had spoken to some of the boys connected with riding motorbikes dangerously around the vicinity and on the hill. The boys have assured them they will not do it again!

5. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION:
There seems to be a lot of dog muck around that is not being disposed of by owners. Clerk informed all that having spoken to the Dog Warden she has said that we can inform her of who is doing this (if we know) and she can then act on that information without witnessing it herself.

6. FINANCE REPORT:
The account balance was read out to Councillors and as usual all books were on the table for any member of the public to read.

a) The balance of the ordinary account now stands at £8,138.50. The savings at £4,030.39. Money paid in is £5.48 in Interest on ordinary account. No money has come out of the account since the last meeting other than cheques signed on that night. All cheques signed tonight will come out of the money left in the account.

b) The following cheques were authorised by the council: Clerk's wages (for past month) £188, Clerk's mileage since October 2006 (as per mileage sheet tabled) £25.20, Woodland Trust rent for Coopers Wood £100.

7. PLANNING APPLICATIONS:
Ref: 1/W/06/002026 - 3 Foundry Close, West Road - This has been granted.

8. ARRANGE FUTURE MEETING DATES FOR 2007:
It was felt that as Cllr. P Lathey was not in attendance then this item would be postponed until the next meeting.

9. CHERRY TREE PLAY AREA REPORT:
Mr McAlister had informed Cllr. T. Gruitt that there was nothing new to report.

10. WOODLAND TRUST PLAY AREA:
Mr Bowditch reported that it is generally fine. The paths are quite wet but obviously so in this weather. Play Area still being used but less at the moment due to the weather.
