Minutes of the meeting of Allington Parish Council held at Cherry Tree Communal Room, Bridport on 11 December 2007. The meeting commenced at 7.00pm.

PRESENT:
Cllr. M.A. Wrighton, Cllr. D. Hitt, Cllr. I. Gay, Cllr. P. Bowditch (Woodland Trust Play Area Supervisor), Don McAllister (Cherry Tree Play Area Supervisor), 3 members of the public. Miss A Hull recorded the minutes. In the absence of the Chairman, Cllr M Wrighton took over the position of Chair.

1. APOLOGIES

2. TO RECEIVE DECLARATIONS OF MEMBERS INTERESTS
There were none to declare.

3. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING The Chairman asked if everyone had both received and read the minutes of the last meeting, if so, were they a true record. ALL AGREED. The minutes were duly signed and dated.

4. MATTERS ARISING FROM THOSE MINUTES
Clerk has spoken to the owner of 4 Longhayes Avenue who informed the Clerk thathe does not own the confier trees along Longhayes Avenue. However, he has offered to cut them back rather than the Council doing it as he was concerned the Council may cut them short resulting in loss of privacy for himself. Cllr. P. Lathey has met with Stuart Martindale from Magna Housing Association to have a walk around Cherry Tree to discuss various concerns/problems.

5. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION
It was brought to the attention of the Council that Sheila Potter's old disabled parking space is now being used by her daughter despite Sheila not living there anymore. Rude notes are being placed on peoples cars should they park there. Clerk to inform Magna. Minibus and other vehicles that should not be parking in Cherry Tree are parking there. Clerk to inform Magna.

6. FINANCE REPORT
The account balance was read out to Councillors and as usual all books were on the table for any member of the public to read. a) The balance of the ordinary account now stands at £7,091.01. The savings at £7,268.81. Money paid in is £15.30 in Interest on Current Account.
b) The following cheques were authorised by the council: Clerk's wages (for past month) £197, Cheque for St Saviours Church (S215) £315, Cheque for SLCC subs £70.

7. PLANNING APPLICATIONS
1/D/07/001755 - Grove Works, West Road. APPROVED
1/D/07/001996 - 7 Pymore Terrace - Erect conservatory and porch. Replace UPVC windows with timber windows and install rooflights. Residents were glad windows were being restored to their orginal state as propoerty is listed. Councillors couldnt see any problems as long as there was Listed Building Officer support.

8. CODE OF CONDUCT FACTSHEETS
Clerk had received Code of Conduct Factsheets which were distributed to all Councillors.

9. CHERRY TREE PLAY AREA REPORT
Mr McAllister informed all that the play area was still well used. He had still never seen any children attaching ropes to the nearby trees but had seen a rope attached to the tree on the entrance to Cherry Tree itself. He would keep an eye on this.. He said he would fill in the various holes left by mud pie making once the weather was fine.

10. WOODLAND TRUST PLAY AREA
Mr Bowditch said all was fine with the play area other thqan the field being wet and the paths being slippery due to the weather.

11. SET FUTURE MEETING DATES FOR 2008
The dates of the meetings would be the second Tuesday of every month. The April meeting would also be the Parish meeting. The May meeting would also be the Annual General Meeting.

The date of the next meeting will be 8 January 2008. Meeting closed at 7.55pm.
