Minutes of the meeting of Allington Parish Council held at Cherry Tree Communal Room, Bridport on 8 January 2008. The meeting commenced at 7.00pm.

PRESENT:
Cllr. P. Lathey, Cllr. M.A. Wrighton, Cllr. D. Hitt, Cllr. K. Hitt, Cllr. I. Gay, Cllr. P. Bowditch (Woodland Trust Play Area Supervisor), District Cllr. A Alford, 4 members of the public. Miss A Hull recorded the minutes 1. APOLOGIES Cllr, C. Stansfield, Don McAllister (Cherry Tree Play Area Supervisor)

2. TO RECEIVE DECLARATIONS OF MEMBERS INTERESTS
There were none to declare.

3. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING
The Chairman asked if everyone had both received and read the minutes of the last meeting, if so, were they a true record. ALL AGREED. The minutes were duly signed and dated.

4. MATTERS ARISING FROM THOSE MINUTES
Stuart Martindale from Magna had made sure that the disabled parking space in Cherry Tree that was no longer relevant had been painted over. However a resident had painted the disabled sign back on. Stuart Martindale has been advised of this and will be taking further action. Vehicles in Cerry Tree that were parking were they shouldnt had beem looked at by Stuart Martindale. One had no tax and Stuart informed the relevant department about this. Others were unfortunately out of Magna's hands as they were parked on roads adopted by the Council.

5. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION
The overgrown conifers in Longhayes Avenue have still not been cut back. Clerk to write to the owner of No. 4 who had kindly agreed to cut them back and give him a deadline by which to cut them. The seat/bench near to the Community Room is in need of replacing. Chairman had suggested to Stuart Martindale from Magna that the Parish Council may be willing to donate one. Council agreed. Clerk to get quotes from John Brights Fencing for this and bring to next meeting. There is another meeting coming up regarding the affordable housing at Flaxhayes Paddock. Chairman will update Council once this has happened.

6. FINANCE REPORT
The account balance was read out to Councillors and as usual all books were on the table for any member of the public to read.
a) The balance of the ordinary account now stands at £7,084.09. The savings at £11,091.01. Money paid in is £12.28 in Interest on Current Account.
b) The following cheque was authorised by the council: Clerk's wages (for past month) £197

7. PLANNING APPLICATIONS
There were none to discuss

8. CHERRY TREE PLAY AREA REPORT
Mr McAllister had given his apologies for the meeting but had had nothing to report about the play area.

9. WOODLAND TRUST PLAY AREA
Mr Bowditch said all was fine with the play area other than the field being wet and the paths being slippery due to the weather. Chairman suggested that the goal posts need to be refurbished and therefore Clerk to get a quote for next meeting from Edwards.

10. CORRESPONDENCE
Various which were all available to read. These included information from Symondsbury Estate regarding re-routing of footpaths due to the public damaging crops by walking through the middle of them. The re-routing of these footpaths would mean that they would be along the edges of the fields. Council had no problems with this but did suggest a new route for one of them. Clerk to take these comments back to Symondsbury Estate.

The date of the next meeting will be 12 February 2008. Meeting closed at 7.58pm.
