Minutes of the meeting of Allington Parish Council held at Cherry Tree Communal Room, Bridport on 12 Feburary 2008. The meeting commenced at 7.00pm.

PRESENT:
Cllr. P. Lathey, Cllr. M.A. Wrighton, Cllr. D. Hitt, Cllr. K. Hitt, Cllr. I. Gay, Cllr. C Stansfield, Cllr. P. Bowditch (Woodland Trust Play Area Supervisor), Don McAllister (Cherry Tree Play Area Supervisor), 4 members of the public. Miss A Hull recorded the minutes 1. APOLOGIES Cllr, C. 2. TO RECEIVE DECLARATIONS OF MEMBERS INTERESTS
There were none to declare.

3. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING
The Chairman asked if everyone had both received and read the minutes of the last meeting, if so, were they a true record. ALL AGREED. The minutes were duly signed and dated.

4. MATTERS ARISING FROM THOSE MINUTES
Clerk had got a quote to re-do the goalposts at the Woodland Trust Play Area. The quote was for £70 and was agreed by all Council members as acceptable. Clerk to organise. A quote had been received from John Bright Fencing for a new seat outside the Community Room. However, Councillors felt the quote was quite high and it was suggested we obtain more quotes for the next meeting. Clerk to sort this. The conifers in Longhayes Avenue are due to be trimmed on 23 February.

5. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION
There is a Volvo parking in Hospital Lane which now has invalid tax. Clerk to inform relevant people. Cllr. Lathey talked about the Flaxhayes Public Consultations taking place on Monday 18th February 5pm - 7.30pm at Brapdole Village Hall, Wednesday 20th February 3pm - 7.30pm at the Scout Hut at Flaxhayes, Saturday 23rd February 10am - 3pm at St Marys Church Hall. Questionnaires will soon be available at various outlets. It would be good if we could have a councillor at each consultation. There is also further information on the Magna website as well as an article in the Bridport News. The new footbridge/footpath which will be running from Pymore Road/Victoria Grove through to Flaxhayes is partly the responsibility of Bradpole Parish Council. We need their support in getting this to happen - cost will be down to the developers. It was suggested Cllr. Lathey meet witht eh Chairman of Bradpole Parish Council to discuss this. Clerk to arrange.

6. FINANCE REPORT
The account balance was read out to Councillors and as usual all books were on the table for any member of the public to read. a) The balance of the ordinary account now stands at £6,510.39. The savings at £11,091.01. Money paid in is £8.30 in Interest on Current Account. b) The following cheque was authorised by the council: Clerk's wages (for past month) £197, Clerk's mileage as per paperwork tabled £28.40, C N Richards grass cutting £536.98. It was also agreed to pay the Viking stationery bill by BACS £82.75.

7. PLANNING APPLICATIONS
1/D/07/001991 - 7 Pymore Terrace - GRANTED

8. CHERRY TREE PLAY AREA REPORT
Mr McAllister said the play area was quite quiet. There is a bit of rubbish around which he will sort out. It had been noticed that there was missing bricks from the wall behind the garages near the play area. Clerk to inform Magna.

9. WOODLAND TRUST PLAY AREA
Mr Bowditch said all was fine with the play area other than the paths being a bit washed out due to the weather.

10. CORRESPONDENCE
Various which were all available to read. These included information from Woodland Trust regarding renewing the lease for the Play Area. It was noticed that htey planned to increase the rent, something which the original paperwork said htey would never do. Clerk to discuss this with the Woodland Trust.

11. DATE OF NEXT MEETING
The date of the next meeting will be 11 March 2008. Meeting closed at 8.20pm.
