Minutes of the meeting of Allington Parish Council held at Cherry Tree Communal Room, Bridport on 9 March 2010.

PRESENT:
Cllr. P. Lathey, Cllr. M. Wrighton, Cllr. D Hitt, Cllr. P. Bowditch, Cllr. I. Gay, 5 members of the public. Mrs A Stephenson recorded the minutes

1. APOLOGIES

2. TO RECEIVE DECLARATIONS OF MEMBERS INTERESTS
There were none.

3. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING
All agreed that the minuted from January and February were a true record. The minutes were duly signed.

4. MATTERS ARISING FROM THOSE MINUTES
None

5. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION
28 Cherry Tree was discussed. Magna visited the site but found that the garden had already been tidied. Cllr lathey is meeting with Stuart Martindale and kerrie Brook to discuss the issues with this property etc. Dog mess in garden of 24 Cherry Tree is running out onto path when it rains. Clerk has informed Magna, the Dog Warden and Environmental Services. Magna had said they would send the residents a letter. Cllr. Lathey will speak to Magna about this when he also discusses the item above. Cllr. Lathey updated all on the Flaxhayes Paddock site which is moving on at a pace now. The official opening was last week. The main road will be called Dibdin View but there are still 4 more roads and a cul-de-sac to name. It was suggested Clerk write to neighbouring schools to ask for their ideas on names before September. Drain pipe that runs along the garages opposite the play area has not been put on in a sensible way. Clerk to inform Magna.

6. FINANCE REPORT
The account balance was read out to Councillors and as usual all books were on the table for any member of the public to read. a) The Current Account stands at £7,357.99 The savings account stands at £10,503.78 Money in is 70p in Interest on Current account.
b) The following cheques were authorised by the council: Clerk's wages (for past month) £214, Viking Direct for stationery £124.09. The issue of purchasing an external hard drive for the Clerk's laptop was discussed as currently the Clerk has no form of backup protection. Clerk ahd found details of a hard drive on play.com for £50. Cllr. Gay proposed the Clerk purchase one on behalf of the council and Cllr. Bowditch seconded this proposal.

7. PLANNING APPLICATIONS
1/D/09/000085 - 2 Pond End, Pymore. Single storey rear extension. GRANTED
1/D/10/000202 - Ways End, Allington Park - Adjoinging consultation. Retention of excavated bank and construction of retaining wall. No objections
1/D/10/000256 - Sir John Colfox School - Adjoining consultation. First floor extension. No objections.

8. CHERRY TREE PLAY AREA REPORT
Don was not present.

9. WOODLAND TRUST PLAY AREA
Cllr. P. Bowditch said all was fine. He advised council that Valerie Staley no longer works for the Woodland Trust so information has to go to her replacement. Clerk is aware.

10. CORRESPONDENCE
Various which were available to read.
